Upon entering The Blue Anchor, you’ll find a cozy and welcoming atmosphere, complete with a traditional fire that adds to the historic charm of the venue. The restaurant offers a different menu for daytime and nighttime dining, with a variety of delectable options to choose from.

During a recent visit, I opted to start with some items from the “Whilst you are waiting” section, rather than traditional starters. The warm bread served with dill oil and butter, as well as the Haldikki olives, were both flavorful and satisfying choices to kick off the meal.

For the main course, I decided on the pan-fried seabass fillet served with purees and Hasselback potatoes. The dish was perfectly balanced and delicious, showcasing the chef’s skill in preparing seafood. Additionally, the chicken supreme with Tuscan potatoes and chorizo was a generous and flavorful option that did not disappoint.

One standout dish was the Mexican marinated chicken with smashed avocado on flatbread. The combination of flavors and textures was unique and refreshing, making it a memorable part of the meal.

To end the dining experience on a sweet note, we indulged in two desserts from the extensive selection. The passionfruit cheesecake with lemon sorbet and lemon curd, as well as the trio of mini desserts, were both delightful and a perfect way to conclude the meal.
