overnight-a12-closure-schedule-for-grass-cutting-next-month

So, like, apparently, the A12 is gonna be closed overnight next month because they gotta cut some grass. Yeah, you heard me right – grass cutting is causing the A12 to shut down at night. I mean, I guess we all gotta do our part to keep those roadside verges looking neat and tidy, right?

Colchester has been a bit of a nightmare in April, with lane closures on Clingoe Hill and Northern Approach Road causing major traffic jams. The whole city seems to be at a standstill, and things are only gonna get worse with more roadworks on the way.

The rapid transit upgrade happening on those two routes is supposed to make public transport faster and more efficient, but right now, it just seems to be causing chaos. And if that wasn’t bad enough, now we’ve got utilities works happening at the same time, making the situation even more unbearable.

Over in Brinkley Grove Road, Highwoods, they’re gonna have overnight closures from Wednesday to Saturday. That’s gonna be fun for anyone trying to get home late at night. The Essex County Council says it’s for resurfacing works, but I’m not really sure why this matters, but I guess it’s important to keep the roads in good shape, right?

And get this – they’re gonna close the A12 at Colchester overnight so they can cut the grass on the sides of the road. I mean, I get that it’s important to maintain the greenery and all, but shutting down a major road for grass cutting? Seems a bit excessive if you ask me.

The closures on the A12 are gonna be from 10pm to 6am, starting on Tuesday and going until Wednesday. Then they’re gonna do it all over again on Wednesday, May 14, until Thursday, May 15. I guess we just gotta grin and bear it until the works are done.

But wait, there’s more! In Wimpole Road, they’re replacing some old iron pipes with plastic ones as part of a Cadent Gas project. The road’s gonna be closed until at least May 20, so I hope nobody was planning on using that route anytime soon.

And over in Mile End Road, they’re replacing even more gas pipes, with the road not expected to reopen until July 4. I mean, that’s a long time to have a road closed, don’t you think? Maybe it’s just me, but I feel like they could try to get these works done a bit quicker.

So, yeah, it looks like Colchester is gonna be dealing with road closures and traffic jams for a while longer. But hey, I guess it’s all for the greater good, right? At least that’s what they keep telling us. Let’s just hope all these works are worth it in the end.
