Bosses at Great Tey Preschool in the village are thrilled to have won the Early Years Provision of the Year award at the Nasen Awards. This preschool, which was rated as outstanding by Ofsted, offers care to children from various local schools. Great Tey Preschool is a charity organization that operates at the Great Tey Village Hall during term time, providing care to children aged one to four years old. In addition to their regular services, they also run a baby and toddler group every Wednesday.

The National Association for Special Educational Needs (nasen) recognized Great Tey Preschool for their exceptional support for children with special educational needs and disabilities (SEND). A parent of an autistic child who attended the preschool for two-and-a-half years nominated them for the award. The parent praised the staff, especially the SENCo and the child’s key person, Truly Bruce, for their comprehensive support in understanding the child’s needs and coordinating with external professionals.

Truly Bruce, the preschool manager for the past nine years, expressed her pride and gratitude for winning the award. She highlighted the team’s dedication to identifying and supporting the individual needs of each child to help them develop effectively. The preschool recently expanded its services to include care for one-year-olds, thanks to additional funding.

The success of Great Tey Preschool is a testament to their commitment to providing high-quality care and support to children of all abilities. Their holistic approach to early years education ensures that every child receives the necessary support to thrive in a nurturing environment.
