Rowhedge Under Five’s Pre-School in Colchester is currently on a journey of improvement after receiving a requires improvement rating from Ofsted in their recent inspection. The report highlighted areas such as the quality of education, behaviour and attitudes, personal development, and leadership and management that still need work.
Despite the previous inadequate rating, the new management team led by Jodie Daniel, the pre-school manager, and deputy manager Claire Derring, has been working tirelessly to make positive changes. In just six weeks, significant improvements have already been noted by Ofsted, showing that the preschool is on the right track towards a better rating.
Inspector Lynn Hartigan praised the preschool for creating a welcoming environment where children feel happy and confident to learn. The education programme focuses on promoting kindness, self-belief, and a love for learning among the children. However, there are still some challenges in terms of the consistency of teaching quality, which is an area that the management team is actively addressing.
The dedication and hard work of the staff, parents, and committee members have not gone unnoticed. Despite the requires improvement rating, the team remains optimistic and determined to achieve a good rating in the near future. The positive feedback from the inspector reflects the positive changes that have been implemented and the goals that are set for the upcoming year.
Rowhedge Under Five’s Pre-School operates during school term time from Monday to Friday, providing a safe and nurturing environment for children to learn and grow. With a focus on continuous improvement and a commitment to excellence, the preschool is dedicated to providing the best possible education for all its students.
