The East of England Ambulance Service Trust is gearing up for the holiday season with the addition of 40 new Renault Master ambulances to its fleet. These new vehicles are set to replace older ambulances and improve services for patients in the region.
Last year, the trust purchased 12 new Renault ambulances, and this year, they are adding 40 more to their fleet. The first 20 ambulances have already been delivered and will be hitting the roads soon, with the remaining 20 expected to be in service by the end of December.
These new ambulances come equipped with advanced technology that allows for the automatic shutdown of idling engines, which helps to reduce fuel consumption and emissions. This upgrade will not only benefit the environment but also enhance the overall efficiency of the ambulance service.
According to the spokesman of the trust, Wayne Lawlor, their current fleet of vehicles works tirelessly, covering over a million miles each month, seven days a week. With the retirement of the Mercedes ambulances scheduled for this year, the new Renault ambulances will step in to provide improved transportation for both crews and patients, especially during the challenging winter months.
In addition to the 40 new ambulances, more vehicles are expected to join the fleet in the coming autumn, further strengthening the ambulance service’s capabilities in the region. The ongoing upgrades and additions to the fleet demonstrate the trust’s commitment to providing high-quality emergency medical services to the community.
As the holiday season approaches, the East of England Ambulance Service Trust is ready to respond to emergencies with upgraded ambulances that are equipped to meet the growing demands for medical transportation. With the introduction of these new vehicles, patients can expect improved safety, comfort, and efficiency when receiving care from the dedicated ambulance crews in the region.
