The Lincoln Krazy Races soapbox derby is just around the corner, with more than 30 teams gearing up to race down Flaxengate on Sunday, September 15. This exciting event will feature a variety of soapboxes, from individual designs to charity and business teams, all aiming to clock the fastest time.

In addition to the thrilling races, attendees can enjoy a vibrant event village with local food vendors, family entertainment, and a giant screen showing all the race-day action. The competition will be fierce, with only the top 10 cars advancing to the final showdown for a chance to win the coveted trophy.

The event kicks off with an official opening procession at 10:45 am, followed by morning racing at 11 am. After a lunch break at 1 pm, the action resumes with afternoon racing at 2 pm. The final race for the top 10 fastest cars will take place at 4 pm, followed by a prize-giving ceremony at 4:30 pm and the event wrapping up at 5 pm.

Among the unique soapboxes set to compete are an old piano, the Flintmobile, The Only Fools and Horses car, and a giant pink chicken. The teams have been hard at work designing and building their soapboxes, and the excitement is palpable as they prepare to showcase their creations on race day.
