Weekend Road Closures: M25, Dartford Crossing, and A12 in Essex
Essex’s main roads are about to face some significant closures this weekend, courtesy of National Highways England. If you’re planning on hitting the road, buckle up and prepare for some detours.
Friday, January 17 Closures
The A12 in Essex will experience a series of closures on Friday night. Southbound Junction 12 entry slip road, northbound Junction 26 exit slip carriageway, and Junction 31 carriageway will all be shut from 9 pm to 5 am.
Over at the Dartford Crossing, the West tunnel on the northbound side will close for tunnel works from 9 pm to 6 am. Additionally, the A282 northbound entry slip road at Junction 1a will also be closed during the same hours.
Moving on to the M25, expect anti-clockwise carriageway and slip road closures from Junction 29 to Junction 27, entry slip road closure at Junction 28, carriageway closure from Junction 25 to Junction 23, and entry and exit slip road closure at Junction 24. All closures will take place between 11 pm and 6 am.
Saturday, January 18 Closures
On Saturday, the A12 will have no scheduled closures. However, at the Dartford Crossing, the West tunnel on the northbound side will be closed from 10 pm to 5 am for maintenance. The East tunnel northbound will also close from 9.30 pm to 5 am for contraflow works, and the southbound QEII bridge will see a carriageway closure from 10 pm to 5 am.
As for the M25, closures include the clockwise exit slip road at Junction 24 from 8 pm to 6 am, entry slip road closure at Junction 28 from 11 pm to 5.30 am, and entry slip road closure at Junction 31 from 10 pm to 5 am.
Sunday, January 19 Closures
Sunday will see no closures on the A12. The Dartford Crossing will close the East tunnel on the northbound side from 10 pm to 5 am for maintenance.
Over on the M25, closures will include the clockwise exit slip road at Junction 24 from 8 pm to 6 am, entry slip road closure at Junction 28 from 11 pm to 5.30 am, and carriageway and slip road closure from Junction 29 to Junction 27 from 10 pm to 5.30 am.
