Essex Traffic Alert: M25, Dartford Crossing, and A12 Weekend Closures

This weekend, residents in Essex can expect some disruptions on the roads as National Highways England announces several crucial closures affecting major motorways in the area. The A12, M25, and Dartford Crossing will all experience restrictions that could impact travel plans for many motorists.

Friday Night Closures

Starting on Friday, December 13, there will be significant closures on the A12, M25, and Dartford Crossing. Electrical works will prompt exit and entry slip road closures on the A12 northbound at Junction 17 from 9pm to 5am. Additionally, a carriageway closure will be in effect between Junction 20A to Junction 20B during the same hours for reconstruction/renewal works.

Over at the Dartford Crossing, the West tunnel on the northbound route will close from 9pm to 5.30am for necessary tunnel works. Meanwhile, the M25 will see a carriageway closure between Junction 28 and 27 anti-clockwise from 11pm to 6am for scheme works. Simultaneously, an exit slip road closure at Junction 28 on the M25 clockwise will also be in place for similar scheme works.

Saturday Night Closures

Fortunately, there are no scheduled closures for the A12 on Saturday, December 14. However, maintenance works at the Dartford Crossing will require the West tunnel on the northbound route to be closed from 10pm to 5am. Similarly, the M25 anti-clockwise will experience a carriageway closure between Junction 28 and 27 from 10pm to 5.30am for scheme works.

Sunday Night Closures

On Sunday, December 15, the A12 will have no planned closures. But the Dartford Crossing’s East tunnel on the northbound route will be closed from 10pm to 5am for maintenance works. The M25 anti-clockwise will also see a carriageway closure between Junction 28 and 27 from 10.30pm to 5.30am for scheme works.

Stay informed about these closures and plan your travel accordingly to avoid any delays or inconvenience.
