Detectives are seeking the assistance of 16 witnesses in connection with a fatal attack on Chef Mussie Imnetu, 41, near the Notting Hill Carnival. The incident occurred on August 26th at Queensway, where Mussie was found unconscious with a head injury. Despite receiving immediate medical attention, he tragically passed away four days later at a hospital in west London.
The attack took place outside Dr Power restaurant after the Notting Hill Carnival festivities. Mussie, who was visiting from Dubai where he resided and worked, was last seen leaving The Arts Club on Dover Street around 1 pm before arriving at the restaurant at 10:30 pm. Detective Chief Inspector Brian Howie, leading the investigation, mentioned that a suspect has been charged, but they are still seeking information from potential witnesses to reconstruct Mussie’s movements that day.
Images of individuals believed to have been in or around Dr Power restaurant at the time of the attack have been released by the police. DCI Howie emphasized that these individuals have not committed any wrongdoing and may have valuable information crucial to the investigation. He urged anyone who recognizes themselves or others in the images to come forward, even if they were simply partaking in post-carnival celebrations and are not local residents.
