Dominic Negus, a former boxer who once faced off against British legend Audley Harrison, has recently opened a new gym in Essex along with pro-fighter Kevin Greenwood. The Greenwood Negus Gym, located on Eastwood Road in Rayleigh, aims to inspire and train the next generation of fighters in the area.

Despite his past involvement in controversial activities, including gang crime, Dominic, now 54, is dedicated to giving back to the community and steering young people away from making the same mistakes he did. The gym opened its doors for the first time on a Sunday, attracting a large crowd and receiving a positive response from the community.

Both Dominic and Kevin bring a wealth of experience to the gym, having competed in various levels of the sport, including paid, unlicensed, and bare-knuckle boxing. The gym also serves as a training base for promising middleweight fighter Dylan Phoenix-Morrison, who is set to make his professional debut at the Sunderland Live Arena on November 9. Dominic praised Dylan as a special talent to watch out for in the future.

Kevin emphasized the effort they have put into making the gym the best it can be over the past six months. With the doors now open, they are eager to help individuals achieve their fitness and boxing goals by sharing their knowledge and experience with the community. The duo aims to not only teach boxing to kids but also promote overall health and well-being.

The gym’s operating hours are from 6am to 9pm, Monday to Friday, 7am to 3pm on Saturday, and 8am to 2pm on Sunday. The facility welcomes anyone interested in participating and has been meticulously designed to cater to the needs of all individuals looking to improve their fitness and boxing skills.
