A 55-year-old man has been arrested in connection with the tragic death of Anita Rose in Brantham. Ms. Rose, a 57-year-old mother of six, was found unconscious on a track road near the railway line of Rectory Lane after sustaining significant head and brain injuries. She was taken to Addenbrooke’s Hospital in a critical condition but unfortunately passed away a few days later.

Authorities have arrested the suspect in Ipswich on suspicion of murder, and he is currently being questioned at the Martlesham Police Investigation Centre. Special officers are providing support to Anita’s family during this difficult time and keeping them informed of the progress of the investigation.

Crimestoppers has offered a reward of up to £20,000 for any information that could lead to the arrest and conviction of those responsible for Ms. Rose’s death. CCTV footage has been released showing Anita starting her walk at Palfrey Heights at 5am and later walking on Rectory Lane at 5.17am.

An inquest into Anita Rose’s death has been opened, with Suffolk Constabulary Detective Chief Inspector Matthew Connick stating that police were able to trace her steps using an app that detailed the route she took. In ongoing inquiries, a police helicopter and a dogs unit were spotted in Brantham on Thursday.

Previously, there have been three arrests made in connection with the case – a man in his 20s, a 45-year-old man on suspicion of murder, and a 37-year-old woman on suspicion of handling stolen goods. They have all been bailed and are expected to return to the police later this year for further questioning. The investigation continues as authorities work to bring justice for Anita Rose and her family.
